QR Scanner & Generator ("the App") is developed by Anwar Studio Official ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect user information in connection with the QR Scanner & Generator application for Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S.

Summary: The App processes passthrough camera data locally on your device to detect and decode QR codes and barcodes, and creates new QR codes entirely on-device. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All history (scanned and generated codes) is stored locally on your device and can be cleared at any time. Location permission is used solely to read the name (SSID) of your currently connected Wi-Fi network for the QR generator; no geographic location is ever collected. We do not operate any external servers and do not share your data with third parties. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at greycidolores@gmail.com.

1. Information We Collect

The App does not require account creation, registration, or login. The App collects and processes the following data:

Camera Data – The App uses the Meta Quest passthrough cameras (via Meta's Passthrough Camera API) solely to detect and decode QR codes and barcodes in your real-world environment. Camera images are processed locally on your device in real time using Google ML Kit. Camera data is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to any server.
Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID) – When you use the generator to create a Wi-Fi QR code, the App can read the name of the network you are currently connected to, to pre-fill that field. This requires location permission on Android/Horizon OS. No geographic location is collected, stored, or transmitted.
Scan & Generation History – The content of codes you scan or generate (URLs, text, Wi-Fi credentials, etc.), along with timestamps and any favorites/notes you add, is stored locally on your device for your convenience. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time within the App.
Generated Code Images – QR codes you create are saved as image files to your device's Downloads folder only when you choose to save them.
User Preferences – App settings are stored locally within the App's private storage.

We do not collect any personally identifiable information. We do not operate any external servers and do not transmit or store any data on any server owned or operated by us.

2. How We Use Your Data

Camera Data – Processed locally and in real time to detect and decode codes. Camera frames are discarded immediately after processing and are never stored.
Wi-Fi SSID – Used only to pre-fill the "current network" field when you create a Wi-Fi QR code.
Scan & Generation History – Stored locally so you can review and act on previous codes (copy text, open URLs, re-generate, mark favorites, add notes, export).
User Preferences – To remember your settings between sessions.

3. Data Storage

The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

Scan & generation history (code content, timestamps, favorites, notes) – in local app storage.
User preferences (app settings) – in local shared preferences.
Exported files and generated QR images – only in your Downloads folder, and only when you explicitly export or save them.

This data never leaves your device and is fully deleted when the App is uninstalled (with the exception of files you chose to save to Downloads, which remain until you delete them).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, license, rent, or share any user data with third parties. The App operates entirely offline with no data transmission to external servers. We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

5. Data Retention

All locally stored data (history, preferences) is retained on your device only for as long as the App is installed. You can clear your history at any time within the App. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all local app data.

6. Data Security

All data stored by the App is kept locally on your device within the App's private storage, which is protected by the operating system's sandboxing mechanism. We do not operate any external servers, databases, or cloud storage.

7. Third-Party Services

The App uses Google ML Kit for on-device barcode detection and decoding, and the ZXing library for on-device QR code generation. Both process all data locally on the device – no camera data, scan results, or generated content are sent to any third-party server. The App also relies on Meta's Passthrough Camera API and standard Horizon OS system services. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on ML Kit. The App does not integrate any analytics, advertising, or tracking tools.

8. Network Usage

The App does not require an internet connection for its core functionality – QR code scanning and generation are performed entirely locally on your device. The App requests the INTERNET permission solely to allow you to open links and perform system actions from codes you scan (for example, opening a URL in the browser). No data is sent to any server operated by us.

9. Camera and Sensors

The App uses the Meta Quest headset's passthrough cameras, accessed through Meta's Passthrough Camera API (available on Quest 3 and Quest 3S), to detect codes in your environment. Camera data is processed locally by Google ML Kit and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. The App also uses the headset's built-in sensors (head tracking, controller input) solely to provide the mixed-reality user interface. Camera access is required for the App's core scanning functionality.

10. Location Permission

The App requests the location permission for a single, narrow purpose: on Android/Horizon OS, reading the name (SSID) of the Wi-Fi network you are currently connected to requires this permission. It is used only to pre-fill the "current network" field when you create a Wi-Fi QR code. The App does not collect, store, derive, or transmit your geographic location, and does not track your movements.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 is using the App, please contact us at greycidolores@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps.

12. Your Rights and Data Deletion

Regardless of your location, you have the right to request deletion of any data associated with your use of the App. All locally stored data resides exclusively on your device. You can clear your history at any time within the App. Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all locally stored app data. No fees are charged for data deletion, and no justification is required.
